Abstract

A triadie model of learning is here proposed that integrates different psychological traditions and concepts and attempts to conciliate them with recent development in learning theory & research and educational practice. Learning is cognitively conceived as a very complex and interative process, in transactional and human inforrriation processing terms. Learners are seen as persons working simultaneously in three congruent dimensions, in their atempts to gain understanding, developing personal knowledge and modifying behavior: appropriation, immersion and transfor malion. For educational purposes, flexibility and versatility are required from the teachers in helping their students, but also systematic design procedures are needed, combining well stated objectives, a large variety of instructional-learningmethods and media and severa! adequate types of evaluation.
