The aim of this study was to obtnin exploratory information from student researchcrs on some variablcs relevant to the scienti fie devclopment of university students. Forty three students from the Psychology Course at PUCCAMP werc sclcctcd. They were firstand fourth year students doing research at thc stagc of data collection. A qucstionnaire on their research activity was answered by thcm. The analysis or the results indicares that thc student researchers considcr doing research and activity which sccks awareness ofrcality and thc production ofknowledge; it isnot only "very" imporrnnt, interesting, challcnging and gratifying. but also "very" difticult and arduous as well as "bit" boring and tiresomc. What motivates thc accomplishmcnt of research are its academic contribution as well as professional shaping.
