Abstract

Mental health problems of children are receiving increasing attention in rcccnt ycars, because of its impact on the child and family.Depression is considered one ofthemost frequent problems in clinicai practice. This paper reviews the literature on childhood depression, including general aspects, definition and diagnosis, theoretical models, prevalence and treatrnent.
