Abstract

Merleau-Ponty's texts on authentic speech and pregnant silence are commented. How Is It possible that a non-authentic speech could be? What is the effect of a deep understandlng of another person's speech? Merleau Ponty can aIso help us to answer these questions. The back-ground for this comment are the issues called forth by the need for understanding psychotherapy.
