This paper describes the establishment and opera tion ofoutpatients' dietotherapic attendance atthe Health Center of Federal University of Viçosa. The outpatients department is open to the University staff, graduated and postgraduated stu dents, and their dependents and aims to attend patients suffering from disorders in which dietotherapy is an important treatment. Such disorders include Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension and Hyperlipidemia. reatment is startedby creatingindividual records with strictly controlled measurements of height, weight, skin folds (at triceps,'bíceps, shoulders, pelvis and abdomen) and circunferences at the patient's rigth forearm, arm, thigh, calf and wrist, as well as chest and hips. The prescribed diet is individu alized, taking into consideration thepatient's socioeconomic and cultural background.
