This text presents a literature review exploring the impacts of the ChatGPT chatbot in the educational context. The guiding question of this study is: what are the potentialities and limitations of the application of Artificial Intelligence (ChatGPT) in Education? To answer this question, a systematic search was carried out in databases for recent articles on ChatGPT and education, selecting ten studies based on criteria such as relevance and quality. The results and discussion highlighted the potential of ChatGPT as a valuable complementary tool in the automated generation of content and personalized assessments. However, they also revealed crucial limitations such as flawed logic, inaccurate responses and bias. Ethical issues such as encouraging plagiarism and inhibiting students’ creativity are latent concerns that require careful pedagogical strategies. It is concluded that there is still much to be investigated before a safe and effective integration of ChatGPT into educational practice.
