Abstract

As a preliminary study to a broader investigation into the dissemination of information on digitisation processes by companies, this study carries out a bibliometric search of the English terms “Digitization”, “Digitalization” and “Digital Transformation”, which are commonly translated into Spanish as “Digitalización” and “Transformación Digital”, despite significant differences among them. In recent years, digital transformation has become a pressing issue for many organisations. The aim of this paper is to examine the current state of research on these terms to provide a
pathway for future scholarly research. To this end, a search for these terms has been carried out in the scientific databases Web of Science and Scopus. Subsequently, the search was refined and adjusted to the “Business” area. Results from both Web of Science and Scopus were consolidated in a single dataset, eliminating duplicate studies. This dataset was analysed with the Bibliometrix software, achieving secondary objectives to determine the quantity of research related to digital transformation and digitisation. Finally, the co-occurrence network of scientific production was established, as well as its nuclear nodes.
