Abstract

Information literacy, personal information and personal knowledge management are necessary to face the
challenges associated with information overload that impact contemporary society. However, research related to
the topic occurs in parallel, resulting in duplication of efforts. Thus, the objective is to analyze the interrelationships
between information literacy, personal information management and personal knowledge management. Through an exploratory and qualitative research, a systematic literature review was adopted as a technical procedure. Eric,
Scopus, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, World Scientific and Google Scholar databases were consulted. The
evaluation of the studies included in the bibliographic portfolio was carried out using the multicriteria method of
decision support in bibliographic research. Fourteen journal articles, written in English, were included, being 12
empirical studies and two theoretical studies. The descriptive synthesis of the data was performed through content
analysis with the aid of the Atlas.ti tool. Thus, based on the results obtained, it can be said that the interrelationships
between the analyzed concepts are characterized by similarity, overlap and complementarity, which are expressed
in their strongly intertwined components. These components are the activities, which constitute actions linked to
the information life cycle; and competences, constituted by the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to deal
with information and knowledge in each context.
